Little Keithley 2304A repair project
« on: February 24, 2016, 11:16:55 am »
Well, I think it's bit over the top using K2400 SMU for powering fans and charging batteries, so time to buy lab PSU.
And no, going to shop and ordering some fancy Keysigh is not an option for real jedi.

Random low bid was put on random item on ebay (dangerous!), and I happened to win the thing.

Seller description: For parts or not working

Sorry for bad photo, it's from item description.  :P

Will see what's wrong with it when it arrives. Shipping is almost same cost as unit itself.
Based on photos in another EEVBlog thread about 2304A there is Keithley 2000 ADC in it, and copy of digital controller from 2000 as well.

After unit repair, some pimping up and full recalibration will be performed. I'm not decided yet which display should I use, VFD 16 x 2 or OLED 16 x 2 ?  :blah:

I've fixed a couple of that family just by unplugging and reconnecting all the internal connections.

Whilst I hope yours is that easy to repair, it will make for a dull thread.
