Logitech Harmony 650 repair?
« on: March 12, 2018, 11:48:59 pm »
I have a Logitech Harmony 650 Universal Remote which seems completey dead with no screen at all.
I tried all suggestions on the web like taking out the batteries and trying to reset the device.
Opened the device and cannot find any broken solder or connections.
The PCB is clean as are the battery connections.

Any suggestions on how to proceed on this?

Does the battery actually have juice, or have you tried powering the remote from an external supply instead of the battery?

I don't know if it's your goal to fix this yourself or if you just want to "get it fixed".  If the latter, I've used this gentleman with great success:

...He does a terrific job (he's even had aftermarket custom LCD touchscreens manufactured for his repair needs!), and his repair reports are a thing of near-military detail and clarity.  Highly recommended.

Thanks for your response. Yes, I indeed did try connecting it to my Agilent power supply with alligator clips but the sysmptoms are still the same.
Also the battery pack seems to be allright and charges fine.

I wanted to have a go at it myself as I did buy another Harmony when this one conked off.
First time opening up a remote like this so I'm a bit clueless on what the issue is.  :-//
