Looking for a replacement audio jack

I am trying to repair a PC audio jack, however I am not able to find a replacement which is the same as the original.

This is the PC board that I am reparing. I am reparing the headphone port. On the outside it says Clsj.


Can anyone help find a replacement part?

Here is the pinout of the part, 3 and 4 short together when plugged in.

I have tried that pinout, it does't work. The PC thinks there is a mic plugged in, when nothing is plugged in and everything unplugged when a headphone is plugged into the jack.

I can't seem to find a jack with that pinout configuration

Just to clarify, 3 and 4 short together when plugged in (on the picture above)

The usual nomenclature and operation is that certain pins are normaled to others. When the plug is inserted, these normal connections are broken. It is much less common for such connections to be made by insertion; what may be happening is that the connection is via the plug barrel, so if an all-plastic plug was used they would not be connected. They are sometimes designed this way though.


In this diagram, jack "D" has only normaled connections, which are broken when the plug is inserted. Jack "C" has pins that detect insertion but are not connected to the plug itself: the triangles don't conduct.

I have the same problem with the same brand's other jack socket.
It has an isolation plastic between the jack plug and the "switch" which is just broke off and then the plug short the 3 connections and the socket is unusable.
I find an another socket that look exactly the same (PJ-358), but the layout is different and it's not working with my computer.
The computer case is Thermaltake Core V21

The closest I can find is the PJ 358, but I can't find a version with a switch inside.

It looks just like a jack behind the front panel of the older Dell Dimension Desktops. Maybe that's the way to go, salvage it from some older computer equipment.
Wanted to ask, where was it installed? What was the application?

hi i am confused which one you found that is fit with your thermaltake case? pj358? but u said pj358 did not work with yours ? loll.. i signed up on this forum just to ask this??

because i also have the same brand case Thermaltake but just different model versa h18. my socket was broken one of it.

So, like the socket's name is PJ358(or PJ-358, etc.), but there are different variants of this socket, like 4 variations if i remember right.
The good ones have an isolation between the "switch" and the jack plug, the bad ones not.
The good ones looks like the green and the pink ones that i have(from the bottom), like on my pictures, the bad ones looks almost similar like the original black, but there are no isolation between the switch and the jack plug's ground.
I have bought them from a chinese seller, from aliexpress, like this was my 6th buy for try.

This seller is selling identical like on the pictures, others not really, like i bought from a seller who have the same pictures but selling the bad ones.
