Looking for McMurdo Aust connectors
« on: December 29, 2015, 10:25:19 pm »
I'm restoring an AWA BAC-1 Consolette, which is a broadcast studio console from 1960's / 70's. This console uses a number of 10 way male and female
McMurdo connectors, see below. Back in the day McMurdo, which is now ITW McMurdo, made components here in Australia. I don't have a part number
for these parts but from the markings on the male connector these were made in Australia. So if anyone has some or these please contact me.

  • There's more value if you figure it out yourself!

Sorry - no help, but I hadn't heard that name (McMurdo) for many years...
I remember them well - and surprised if they are still around!
They had an interesting range of heavy duty connectors.
Don't ask a question if you aren't willing to listen to the answer.

I think this particular connector pair were only made in Australia, so if there are any to be found they are only going to be NOS or used.
ITW McMurdo still make connectors and the Red Range has a similar shaped pin to that used on the male connector.
