Modern replacement for a N8280A or SN74176N IC chip
« on: March 30, 2017, 04:12:27 am »
I'm diagnosing a Itron (Newport) 650 NIXIE tube based counter and I'm trying to find a modern replacement for the decade counter chips in the Itron. They are labeled N8280A and I can find a replacement chip of SN74176N, that, too, is now obsolete.

Anyone know a pin-compatible replacement for the N8280A?

74196 or 74LS196 will also work.  All of these parts are obsolete, but available on eBay.

NTE74176 is actually still available from Newark.
