Need an alternative for this MOSFET
« on: November 10, 2017, 06:18:28 pm »
Hello,

I have a macbook logicboard 820-2850-A which was not turning on. Managed to find the part which was the problem.

The part in schematic:

Q7535
CSD58857Q5
MLP5X6-LFPAK-Q5

Want to replace the faulty MOSFET with a working one, dont have any of this home, so I would like to know is there an alternative MOSFET for this?

Thank you!

Basically any MOSFET in the same package should work. You just need to know if it is P-Channel or N-Channel.

Btw. check if it is really a MOSFET. If it is near the Charging-Connector, it could also be an ESD-Protection Array. They are supposed to fail open, but often enough they fail short, taking out traces, connectors or just suck away enough power so the Laptop doesn't turn on.
If the computer turns on with the component desoldered, it was most certainly a ESD-Diode.

Hello,

thanks for your reply. I am sure it is this mosfet cause it got very hot extremely fast. When I desoldered it, the laptop started booting and so on, just now it wont finish the boot cause I think this part is missing. I know that it is an N-Channel MOSFET, just I dont know with with other mosfet i could change it. I cannot find a datasheet on the one i need.
