Noctua NF-A6x25 FLX 60mm FAN ball-bearing noise ?
« on: December 16, 2016, 08:48:46 am »
Hi,

I have this FAN (Noctua NF-A6x25 FLX) thats part of a external disk cabinet (LaCie), to my utter frustration I hear the ball-bearing when its on.

Anybody got a thought how to fix that or should i just replace it with a (different brand) fan, any tips?

I checked the datasheet of the Nocutua and it should be already pretty silent. Maybe just a wanky model?

Thanks!

I use Noctua NF-F12 PWM and is zero noise, it's extremelly quite, In your case i would replace the unit for another Noctua the product is good , extremelly good,

is it possible to put one drop of light machine oil on the bearing?

I have a Noctua and its been very quiet for me. I've never had to lubricate anything.

But on other fans often that makes them quieter. Just one drop per bearing, never more.
