Old ADE Capacitor Marking V-
« on: November 02, 2017, 01:50:17 pm »
Hi folks, I've got a power supply to repair (board dated 1987) - its 240V cap is an old ADE marked as 100uF 385 V- and having not seen a capacitor marked as V- I just thought I'd check if the minus symbol had any particular meaning.

It's not a minus sign. It is a straight line indicating DC.

Thanks Glarsson, I suspected so but given it didn't have dashes under the line and seeing it for the first time I thought I'd double check - thanks mate.
