P6106 probe 10x pin assembly
« on: April 01, 2016, 12:20:45 am »
Hi,

The 10x contact pin assembly on my P6106 Tek probe mysteriously came apart, and I'm wondering if it is fixable. Somehow the black retention ring came off and I heard something drop on my hardwood floor.

Below are some pics of the pieces that I've got. I have a feeling that I am missing something. The second pic is how I think things are suppose to go back together, but the 10x pin isn't being pushed out to make good contact with the 10x ring on my 475.

Any ideas?

I'm guessing that you are missing at least some sort of spring to push the pin out. Some Tek probes use "pogo" test pins to make the contact - this might be a source of parts if you can't find the original spring.
