Part identification: Worn down switch
« on: June 05, 2017, 08:07:16 pm »
Greetings

The hood in my kitchen is failing me, its the on/off switch that's worn down. I'm usually the parts procurer/finder at my job, but my searches come up blank.

I hope someone knows the markings on the switch.

Thanks in advance

Pry Open it up from the plastic slot slowly and clean the contacts with deoxit.

It's unlikely that a mains switch is suffering from contact oxidation, more likely is that the contacts or mechanism are worn out. A worn and arcing mains switch is a fire hazard.
Best Regards, Chris

Hi all

Thanks for the inputs! Didn't think to clean the contacts. However the wifu managed to kill it completely today, and that left a skid-marks on the PCB.. It was a bad solder on one of the pins! So a bit of solder managed to salvage the hood.

What a crappy circuit design they made though.. All wires a connected on a single board with spade connections..

Thanks again!
