Power Switch (table saw) with one way turning screws? (how to open)

Hi All,

I need to replace the power cable of this switch. Its from a table saw, but as you can see on the picture the screws turn only one way (I think) 

I can order a complete new unit (E 80), but only the cable is broken (E 6) 

Anybody a clever idea how to deal with this ? And I don't mean cutting the cable :-) and put a new connector on it..

I would like to replace the whole cable from the socket into the box.

Usually you just press harder to stop the screwdriver sliding off...

Alternatively, just cut a slot in them.

Or use locking pliers/vise-grip to remove them, then throw them away and replace with something sane.

If the other good and easier suggestions fail, I'd drill a hole in each and use a left hand extractor (like an ez-out). Failing that, a left hand drill bit. If that fails and it's not surrounded by plastic then I'd TIG a bolt to the head of each screw and back it out with a socket. The heat of the TIG loosens it up nicely.

If the heads protrude above the surface you can file a slot in them to use a standard screwdriver.

If you're paying an employee to do work that requires occasional removal of such screws, $20 for a tool that makes it easier is a bargain. Sure for someone who only needs to do it once there are other ways but if I regularly encountered 1-way screws I'd buy a set of those tools.

They'd be useful in paid jobs.  Removing bathroom partitions in public restrooms for example (remodel).

I would use a Dremel tool with a cutoff blade, and grind a standard screwdriver slot. I didn't see that suggestion.
