PWM Controller Fuse? And Where to get a new one
« on: May 23, 2018, 01:21:47 pm »
Hello all,

I bought a couple 100 AMP PWM controllers that I want to use for my two trolling motors.

They worked fine of course on land,  but when on the boat I did the most basic stupid thing in electronics - I reversed the polarity of the battery mains!

So lesson learned,  attached are pictures of what I believe is a burned brass fuse.

The trouble is,  I don't know what formal name of this type of fuse is called.  Is it a shunt serving as a fuse?   A few google searches turned up nothing because I know I'm not using the right terminology.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to possibly find replacements?  I don't just want to bridge the gap with just anything,  I would like to replace what was there.

Thanks for any help!

Jeff

One question is what PWM controller did you get? Pics of the whole controller would be useful. Might be able to identify the part that needs replaced.
