Quick fix: Fluke 115 DMM
« on: July 18, 2014, 08:15:52 am »
Hi guys, This is my first post here. Though I shared my quick repair job that I've done last night. I received a non working  Fluke 115 DMM from my dad's acquaintance. I though it was just a dead battery. But turns out the battery has leaked out and corroded the contact tabs.
So I thought I'd tried replacing it with a 9v battery cap. I've got lucky that the battery fits in snugly.
Works like brand new. Just have to take note of the wires being pinched down.

Good job.  I rarely see 9V batteries leak so this is first for me seeing that corroded terminal.

+1 Nice job. Now use quality alkaline batteries, it's a nice Fluke.  :-+

:-+ :-+, good job.  I agree with darko, don't use crappy batteries.  Name brands only and your meter will serve you well.

Thanks guys. But I've stopped using alkaline batts for a while now. Now I've mostly stocked up on GP dry cell. They are fairly cheap about a dollar each.
