Problem in tektronix 2445 oscilloscope
« on: January 25, 2021, 08:21:46 am »
Hello,
I have a problem in ch1 of my scope that it show 5KV/d at the full scale. If you put a signal you can see that the scope show results in proper to 5V/d, at mean it's looks like there is a definition of 1:1000 probe that conected. But I do not recognize any definition like that in this analog scope.
Someone know and can help me with this?
Thanks

That scope has a probe detection ring. If that ring is shorted to GND, your scope thinks you attached a 1000X probe.

Thank you for your comment.
I red the link but I didn't know where is this ring exactly in the BNC connector. I didn't find also any mention for this at the 2445 service manual. That seems there no option for detecting probe at this scope.
Do you know where is exactly its located than I can check the short if exist??

Can you post a close up picture of the BNC input?
