replacing lost/damaged ON-OFF button of Tektronix TDS1002/TDS210...

Please, can anybody help me to find a replacement for this push button?

I need one for TDS1002 (lost) and one for TDS210 (broken/missing latch).
TDS210 part and TDS1002 part seem to be identical.

For the missing button, I would try to find something that fits.  For the broken latch (the one on my TDS 210 is also broken), I just use it as is.  Gravity works fine to hold it in place, as I rarely use the scope upside down.    A little piece of double-sided mounting tape could be added, if that is a problem.

Prices like that could make having the buttons 3D printed quite economic. Especially, as there may be suitable designs already available online, e.g:

I was just discussing with a friend the other day how these buttons always seem to be missing, he mentioned he also has a scope that is missing the button. Tek is usually really good when it comes to the details but they dropped the ball somewhere with that button. I mean how hard is it to come up with a molded plastic button that doesn't fall off?

That particular shade of blue is a color E-switch uses.

It kind of looks like the P227 series:

Even if you can't find a manufacturer you can measure your existing cap and comb through Digikey to find something that fits.

Yeah HP / Agilent / Keysight / Insert name Here had that issue with the key caps on their E36xx series power supplies.

I don't know what they are made of but they crack like nobodies business.

The problem with commercially available button caps is that they tend to be too short - typically 11.2 mm high (the Tektronix button is 18 mm high).

An alternative to 3D printing a button, might be to buy small square button, and build it up to the size and shape of a Tektronix button with something like Milliput.

I haven't seen one of these buttons outside of a scope, but you might be able to make one out of a piece of Delrin stock, cut to size, shape it with a belt sander or file and drill a hole in one end to fit the switch. Another idea is find an off the shelf button that will fit and then stick it on a rigid tube stuck on the switch.

Yup that part is made by E-switch P227 is the series.

Measuring the one I have in my hand: 17.1 mm long, 10.65 mm wide (tapers to top) and 6.57 mm thick (tapers to top)............I would make one from a offcut of nylon, plastic or whatever I could find similar. A corner from mums chopping board even.
Corner to corner measurement of the switch shaft is 4.45 mm but we already know the shaft is 3.3 mm square so say drill a 4 mm hole and flie some steel square @ ~4 mm to use as a broach to square up the hole some.
Some Blue Tac or chewing gum to hold it on....done. Easy.

Further thoughts:
Open the casing hole ever so slightly so that any push button you might manufacture can be slightly larger in cross section and therefore less thin where the hole is drilled. More robust.

I don't think that is necessary. Looking at the photos of the original button it seems that it's hollow. Make it of solid material and it will be very strong.

It might not be.

It has a pair of catches that grab onto the recesses of the switch shaft. If these are broken away it will appear to look hollow.

This is great stuff. I also have a 1002  missing the power button. Then I stumbled across this thread accidentally (clicked the next thread button instead of next page of thread). Some good ideas, I had  kind of resigned myself to just Jerry rigging something, but now maybe I will do otherwise.

Although, I was informed by tech-support  that part is still available, at least back in May. And assuming that I had gotten the right part number from the service manual or wherever I found it…
