[solved] Help identify LiIon overvoltage protection IC
« on: July 21, 2018, 12:41:50 am »
Two identical ICs in a 10s Li battery controller of Xiaomi M365 electric scooter failed short on all inputs. They didn't explode thanks to 1K series resistors and drained many cells to 0V (should I really thank those 1Ks?).
Drawing a partial schematic suggests a charging overvoltage protector.
WSON8 package (no leads), no exposed pad, marking: L04A EV. Bottom side marking seems to be a date code (8A on one, 8N on the other). The other components are mix of brands, no favor to any (MagnaChip power FETs, TI BQ7693003 monitoring AFE, STM8L MCU). TI has some similar small ICs, but none matches the pinout :(

Edit: solved, it’s an R5434D by Ricoh
