Rohde & Schwarz SMT03 LC display replacement

Does anyone know what resolution the LC display of the SMT03 and similar models has?

Mine has a dark display,,,,and probably the backlight can't be replaced with a newer one...

I don't have the answer to your question, but I've heard that the CMD80 uses the same display.
You can get those real cheap - see Ebay item 271755746245 for instance.

Okay...got something....according to the SMT service manual it says that the SRAM is enough for 4 pages of 640x200....so I assume this is the resolution as well....and is driven by a Seiko Epson SED1351F controller...

I got impression that displays on these not so bright normally, as there is metal glass in front panel to shield EMF.

A picture wouldn't help much (o;

It's just a matter of aging that those CCFL get darker...and the fact that the EMC filter glass  is getting yellow over time...makes the visibility worse....
Maybe I'll try to replace EMC glass with a plain one to see the difference....

The display is readable when you're looking directly into it (and yes...adjusted contrast/brightness ;o)...but if it's in a shelf where you look at at at a 30 degree angle from below...it is now (o;
