Smd transistor test and JBL speaker repair.
« on: June 26, 2016, 01:16:55 pm »
This board is from a JBL bluetooth speaker, wjere the comtrol buttons are. I beleive it is faulty as all leds ligjt with the d-mm on continuity however the leds on the left (were the power button is located dont ligjt up (on top and bottom of button) the device is faulty since as i swich on the power button the leds light up though immediately turnoff as i release the button (it tries to power up but doesn't) is this a sign of a short?, battery is charged well , its in good condition. I suspect the smd transistor as shown (S2A written on) what is tbis model and how do i test if it is faulty or not?
Any ideas on what else might be causing the problem?  I even checked the main board though no signs of shorts from the smd caps
Thanks

You can test it like two diodes.  If it is shorted it will show 0V if not anywhere between 0.3V and 0.7V on diode test.
