Spindle Motor PWM Controller
« on: June 29, 2016, 01:13:30 pm »
Hello,

I have a PWM Controller to control a CNC motor. Everytime i try to start the controller by pluging in DC power to it the fuse blows.

The fuse is rated to 5amp from the factory.
Everything is connected correctly, im not sure why this is happening.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

Hi there,

Use a multimeter in continuity or ohms mode and measure between each pin marked S, D and G. Those are the pins that go to the power MOSFET's on the heat sink. There should not be any short between them, that is for each FET. There may be a short however between the FET's as they may use a common power rail. But on the FET's themselves ther should not be any short. Let us know.

Happy hunting.
Kind greetings,

Pascal.
