TANDBERG HI-FI System 13 - Fixed!

I was lucky!!!
But at the beginning of this fix I was like:
Fixing a speaker? How?
Only thing to broke up there is the coil - but what I can do with blown coil in 50 years old speaker?
Rewind it??? Not at my level of skils and with my tools
But I decided to look inside just for curiosity. When I had removed speaker before me, just started to tinker - I've connected it to 1khz test signal and started to touch here and there, rattle and shake whole thing and voila! Speaker started to wheeze, grunt and it was trying so hard to play 1khz for me!
I've stared to touch its signal path with 1khz at the end of sharp probe in different places and finally found moment to be bypassed.
And thats it! Done. And they sound and look so beautifull! Mesmerizing warm middle from another dimension!

is the speaker 6 by 9 inches, and closed, without duct? couldn't see it in the pictures, just curious

Can't confim speaker size - those Tandbergs are my friend's.
But no duct - closed cabinet.
Just look at very odd (perfect flat) terminals, and with felt pads at the... back of the speaker - previous owner was using them over all those years laying at the back at the top of cabinet, emitting sound to the ceiling 
When I look at recess around terminals, I'm beginning to think that this position was what they were designed for.
Is this possible?

hmmm, could be possible, but I don't think so, I got a pair of oldies too, they aren't as beautiful as these, got them for free, somebody was going to put them in the trash and I got them, I'm going to take a pic and post it here, ok?

It looks as though you bypassed a piece of the litz wire with solid copper. Those wires have a gazillion teeny threads to make them ultra flexible for 2 reasons. One, they will get flexed thousands of times a second and two they will impede the cone movement if they are too stiff.

If you've done what it looks like you've done, you may find either it damages the speaker over time, or it snaps pretty quickly. Contact a place that re-builds or re-cones speakers and buy a couple of inches of wire from them.

This is not a solid copper, oh no This is most flexible elastic copper wire I've found in my lab - I should remove insulation to make it even more supple. A good idea to buy proper litz wire for future - thanks!

yeah hehe, but they need some love, yours, about the position they were ment to be use probaly is horizontal, and the feet on the back are just to give the wires some spacing and prevent the box touching the wall.

I've seen plenty of speaker drivers with front mounted tweeter, I've never seen one with a front mounted crossover too!
