Tektronix 2215 bad switch contact
« on: February 15, 2018, 01:50:56 am »
I got this used and I'm happy with it, seems to work pretty good for what I've tried, but this is only my 2nd benchtop scope and 1st analog 1.

The power switch release/spring mechanism was broke so I had to hack a solution for that.

Now the CH1 coupling switch is very loose and so makes poor contact sometimes. Also the SEC/DIV assembly comes loose and makes bad contact going from 0.5ms to 0.2ms, and I just get the beam dot or vertical line sweeping across the screen slowly.

Anyone familiar with the that 1980s ear Tek stuff? I don't want to pull it apart just to find its some sealed/welded closed switch that I can't open up to clean. I don't have contact cleaner either.

I have the schematics, hope the s/div switch its too complicated or enclosed, I don't have many tools.
