Tektronix 2235 Horizontal problem
« on: August 31, 2017, 09:48:09 pm »
Recently acquired a tektronix 2235 from a local university. I am not sure if what I recorded is normal.

In these two videos I recorded the edge of the probe compensation square wave. I. The first one the x10 mag is activated.

Here is XY mode. I can only adjust the x position a little bit but y goes across the screen.

I have a proper soldering iron and another analog oscilloscope that could be used to fix this but I do not have an isolation transformer, nor do I have any formal EE education (I'm in high school), so I probably can't do more than to tune knobs, check power supply voltages and replace capacitors. :-//
Just me and my scope.

You need to have input on both X and Y. Read the manual.
