Just an update, I haven't used the printer since I last posted a few months ago, but I dismantled the toner cartridge today, and the wiper has definitely deformed. Here's a photo for comparison to the ones above.
I'll try heating it to a higher temperature and see what happens. I have several 'bad' cartridges so I'm not too fussed if any get damaged.
