TV power Board 'vd' diode reference designator

Hello, I am testing a TV power board and I was going through the Diodes but some of them have a 'vd' reference designator.  Im not familiar with this designator and was wondering if anyone could help me out.  Also they seem to behave oddly when I test them with my multimeter I am able to get a voltage reading in the wrong direction. The reading will creep up from .1 to .9 volts then overload. Is this part bad or is there just something I dont understand here?

Maybe a zener diode? Could you post a picture?

http://imgur.com/a/3fcrG#0  here is an album of pictures of the diodes being tested.  The first is with correct current flow.  Then there are sequential images as the voltage increased to about .8 volts(and stopped) with current flowing in the wrong direction.  The last few are another diode i tested where the voltage kept increasing to .9 volts then hit OL.  Thanks for taking a look!
