What organisation uses it and for what application? Maybe network devices testing?

Are you going to do a review of it? :D

A teardown might be a little too much to ask for :o

looks like its LeCory, pretty crazy! I once wrote a simple GUI for a custom in house used 24 channel scope and I thought that was a beast.....

Yeach. Its the lecroy.
The noise is deafening.
The noisefloor is not something to write home about...
It is slow as molasses because of the massive amount of data that needs to be displayed.

The 'microwave' on top is a touchscreen monitor with the scope control panel. The box left of it is the data aggregator.

Ive seen these last year at ESC  and designcon.. The amount of heat coming from them is also horrendous.

I'd guess things like phase array antenna/radar development.

Nah, jezus almighty's scope has infinite bandwidth , infinite sampling speed and infinite channels. He sees everything that happens at the same time , everywhere. It is so large it is everywhere.
