853D VOLTAGE REGULATION PROBLEMS
« on: July 12, 2017, 07:53:51 pm »
hi all i have the 853D 3-1 soldering sation which i love, Sadly i have a problem where the Voltage regulation is not working, i am getting a voltage output of 35V and also 35V is displayed on the volt meter and i have also confirmed it with multimeter.

i have tested the potentiometer and that is working all OK, so what could be the problem? Why is it outputting 35V ( i am unable to control the voltage using the voltage potentiometer )  when it should only be 15V max?

I am also having these problems although my voltage is stuck at 51.1 volts.
I have the same model WEP 853D.
I emailed the seller who put me in touch with the factory this was 3 years ago i never heard back. I had told them i just need to know what needs replacing i will repair the device myself.

Did you have any luck in finding the faulty component? Is there anyone else out there that can give some advice on what may be the issue.

MANY THANKS
ZZ

Had a Zeny(Yihua/WEP?) 853d ,0-15v ,1A/2A(marked on front analog meter, but no clue where that supposed 2A capacity comes from---meter only goes to 1A),stuck at 30 volts, after >1A load exceeded supply. First thing was to get rid of mis wired, factory AC cord--hot and neutral switched--dangerous. Main board #youde853mdV6/control board #yd853sdV4---transformer date of 11/25/2018(so a 2019 model). Contacting Zeny for a schematic went nowhere. R33 was obviously burnt--should be 150 ohm,3W. TIP3055 on heat sink--shorted out. Original specs on it--15A/60V/90W. Replaced it with a 2N6487,heat sink grease(none before),because it was on hand, and spec'd close--15A/70V/75W. Wasnt too worried since its only a 15V/1A supply. Replaced burnt resistor, and stood it slightly above circuit board for better cooling. Plug into 100w series light bulb,AC  fuse saver cord---no smoke and proper power supply adjustment now possible. Thanks to this forum,i was able to read thru other clues,to keep this out of the landfill. Hope it helps someone else.
