Atten APS3005S Quick look

after finding this hack in my bookmarks https://www.eevblog.com/forum/reviews/atten-aps3003s-psu-display-overclock/ i decided to open up my atten aps3005s to see if it had the same display driver,




thru-hole!


|O completely different looking, the display chips are

these connectors are a bad idea, lifted off the board when trying to remove connector:

It is probably the worst PSU ever.

Have you seen the overshoot spikes when turning it on/off? I get spikes of +-150V...  :palm:

Also the damned banana jacks are too small. Wont take standard 4mm...

i dont see any spikes on the display or with my fluke 117, fits a couple of the banana plugs i got but i know there is at least one it doesnt, wish it took shrouded plugs like multimeter leads. other then the slowly updating display and lack of extra digits its been alright for me.

Put your MM on peak mode or use your scope.

Yes, probably the spike is very fast and cannot be seen on a DMM: you need a scope.
