Dremel 3000 fault
« on: December 18, 2014, 08:55:06 am »
I recently saw a post regarding a nearly new Dremel 3000 that had stopped working for no apparent reason. This has happened to me twice and if this is a common fault I have found an easy fix. Take the Dremel apart and pull the black switch housing from the coil housing. There are 2 windings and one of these has possibly gone open circuit. Measure across each. The spade connectors push into the plastic outer case and locate over the winding wire. This is where it breaks. Gently try to lift each end of the winding where it enters the housing to establish which end is broken then gently pull out the relevant spade connector. Unwind the wire one revolution and scrape the insulator away. Replace wire through housing and refit spade connector. This worked for me.
