Inkjet/plating process for cheap flex circuits :

Plastic substrate so needs to use low-temp solder, but wow!

Thats been around for a long time.
They print a silver or carbon particulate and then use an ion exchange process to 'grow' a layer on top of that.

Basially an inkjet printer followed by a plating process.

But : single sided only. No holes , no through hole plating. Fortunately reels of 0 ohm resistors are cheap.

Apparently their process is a bit different, and  uses Inkjet vs. screen printing so minimal tooling,

Maybe, but with online ordering, low tooling cost and in-house assembly?

oh yeah. they had that since day 1.
i have a demo foil form those guys somewhere. size of an a4 sheet.

it is inkjet printed but there is an additional chemical step.
if i recall you need to solder with bismuth ( low temp )
