Hakko gear question: will an FM2028 handle work with an FM203 power box?

I'm getting mixed messages on the FM2027 vs. FM2028.  Most say the former is for the FM203/FM204.  The 2028 is for the 951 power supply.  But, the FM2027 and the FM2032 are both supposed to work with the 203 and the 951.  So, why wouldn't the 2028 work with the 951 and the 203?  Hakko product interoperability is becoming a new hobby...
