Title: Having issues with SD card
Post by: FurnaceRocker on May 27, 2018, 05:26:55 pm
Hey guys, wondering if any of you might be able to help me.  I have a Pioneer XDP - 100R High Res Audio player.  In it is a 200GB SD card made by Sandisk.

It's worked great for the past 2 years, but I'm having a really weird problem with it right now.  I bought a new album the other day and put it on there, and the songs sounded great.  There were lots of weird spikes of different frequencies that just sounded bad, kinda like there was a wah pedal in there somewhere.  I then play the files on my computer, and they sounded fine.  So i tried resaving them on the SD card, but it still continued to sound terrible.  I can even save them to the SD card, and play them on my computer, just selecting the files on my SD card and they still sound bad, so I don't think the problem is the player.  All the other music that I know of on my SD card sounds fine (at least the random songs that I was selecting did), and if I save the music on the player it sounds fine as well, it's only when I play the new music that is on the SD card.

Any help?
Thanks

I've had SD cards get flaky before, and some devices are a lot more picky than others for reasons I'm not entirely certain of. First thing I'd try is format the card and copy the files back onto it, or try a different SD card.

Hi there

Does the device allow recording from a microphone ? Try record a long time and then play it back to check  . Try with and without SD card ( internal memory) and check audio.

The manual doesn't refer to a input  line in / mic and headphone jack is only suitable for 3 pins. So copy an known audio file for SD card and internal memory and compare it.
