I thought I would do a review of this card, from a not as gamer-specific point of view:

The Hauppauge you show as a better option towards the end and of course for a higher price, won't bypass HDCP, so you would not be able to capture the PS3 via HDMI, it does however allow you to capture via component video.

Also it won't allow you to capture from a blue ray or any other HDCP protected source via HDMI.

Also they are a pain to setup, because it transfers the captured video via USB, meaning that it has to buffer the video and the capture is delay by many seconds, and you'll have a mess of wires all around.

So I'm pretty impressed with your cheap $50 card.

Its actually designed for the ps3 and other gaming systems, at least according to the ad. So it supports hdcp but blurays may or may not be playable. With the timeleak, blurays are recordable from the ps3. on my bluray player the disc menu will run but the disc will refuse to play the movie with the hd72 connected. It's a moot point though since there are much easier ways to rip blurays. Go DRM.

Some cheap HDMI splitters work out of the box as HDCP strippers. I tore down two that were that way.

Just goes to show that DRM like HDCP is useless other than creating problems for the end user.
