How to properly store unused pci boards?
« on: October 13, 2016, 09:18:05 am »
Hi,

currently I have a 20 or so used PCI and PCIe boards which I would like too store properly for future use. Can anyone recommend a proper storage facility/box or something else in which to safety store these boards. I hate to have them lying around only in their antistatic bags, since they might easily suffer mechanical damage.

Traditional method is the antistatic foam lined cardboard box. Just chuck one card in each box inside the antistatic bag.

My father imported literally containers full of ISA boards from Taiwan packaged like this. Never a problem, other than getting rid of the boxes after he'd installed them in hardware.

Hit ebay for them; probably cheaper than everywhere else.

I just wrap each one in household aluminum foil and stack them gently in a box.

And here my result in response to your answer.
A pity the PCI boards do not fit in to ex. VHS boxes.

Thanks for the hint.

PS.: The hint regarding the ex. VHS boxes was also from this great forum.
