Knick Precision Source JS300
« on: January 11, 2013, 11:32:35 am »
I have bought this on ebay. It is working very well, except the 1500V option, which it is suppose to have. So I opened it and there is nothing connected to the 1500V output. I have the user manual but unfortunately there is no schematic. Therefore I contacted the manufacturer and asked for a schematic. They were very kind and helpful but they said they do not have these documents any more. Does anyone by chance have this and is willing to share it?

It's not going to be just the connection, as you can see in the second picture you need the JS300/1 option for the 1500V output.
It is probably not something you can build easily too.

thx for your reply.
I know that this is a option and my unit is suppose to have the JS300/1 option. Therefore I am looking for the schematic.
Do you know or even have this unit and/or have a schematic of it?

Sorry, I don't own one and I did a quick search for a schematic but could not find anything.
I'm just thinking that your unit does not have the option, even the Ausf. box is empty, I expect something in there (/1 maybe?) if it has the option.

thx again

The seller sold it as a unit with this option.
But because I could not identify where it is inside, nor where it could be placed if it is missing or just pulled out, you are probably right and it is not there.

Nevertheless I am still looking for the schematic.

Hi,
I know this Topic is older...and I just calibrated one of this devices.

If you are still searching for the service manual, maybe you can contact this guy from the youtube video

He said he got more detailed informations from Knick and his JS300 have the 1500V option.

regards
Andreas

Hello to everybody.

I have received my Knick JS300 a few days ago and was very pleased about its very good working condition.
Pictures 1 and 2 are showing the stability over 5 hours 9 minutes and 15 seconds.
After that time, the logging values dropped down to a value of about 8.6 Volts immediately, what means from the last good scanned value directly to the failure conditioned values.

As a reason for that I found that a Tantalum capacitor showing a short circuit value and exchanged it together with another one that is connected in parallel.
Then I restarted the logging procedure for about 13 hours.
While I was observing the values taken, I became more and more disappointed.
Pictures 3 and 4 will show you why.

After first attempts of repairing, the Short Time Drift is now at least ten times higher than before.
But that is not all the bad news, because the rise of drift is not showing to have any asymptotic limit.

Unfortunately I do not have any servicing information for the JS300.
However, Knick Berlin send me the Owner Manual only and said that other documents are no longer available.

Is there anybody who will help me and share his documentation ?
