Nest Protect... Anyone used one?

The first generation of these is currently on clearance in Currys/PC World in the UK at £39.97.

Bought a mains one the other day but not fitted it yet, anyone used one and have any feedback?

We have the mains version and it does not get triggered by the cooking/burning  like the old style smoke alarms did and it does work well to pick up real fires as we found by accident when some wood fell out of the wood stove and the alarm went off very quickly.
