I'm trying to source a Panduit connector tool, the type that forces one wire at a time into a SIP insualtion displacement connector. The style that looks a bit like a gun with a trigger. I'm not necessarily married to the Panduit version, if there is a similar tool from Molex etc. The tool I'm think of has interchangable heads for either  0.1 or 0.156" connectors

Are you referring to the MTA-100 and MTA-156 connectors?

The inexpensive T-handle versions from TE are 59803-1 and 59804-1. Otherwise, there's the gun-style 58074-1, the heads are available at the bottom of the Digikey page.
