PCB Flip Assembly Jigs
« on: July 29, 2014, 05:54:45 am »
Hi there! Searched turned up nothing useful...

Anybody know where to get a decent PCB flip jig?  I am not looking for a Panavise, but a holder for many small PCBs that can flip around to solder.  Basically what I want exactly is a Jensen/Idealtek PCSA-2.  But most places require an order of 3 of those (which would run over $500!), or sell them individually for around $400. Neither seems like a good deal, just bad and worse!  The PCSA-1 is smaller than I'd like.

Anybody know of a suitable fixture, or where to buy the PCSA-2?  Been searching for a decent one for months!!

Yes... Newark will let you order from the UK stock for about $400 after shipping.

Here is one for $257.

That's the smaller PCSA-1 equivalent and is 11x11". I want the one that's 11x20". They have the other size for $282. Still is a bit much.

I don't believe it. Finally found one for $220, which is a lot more reasonable than the other options: http://www.all-spec.com/products/Tools%7CGeneral_Hand_Tools%7CTOL-4C/382-001.html

That's a lot of money for something to 'just' flip your pcb's IMO

Well, it doesn't just flip the boards.  It holds the components in place while you solder them.

I know. But i still think it's a lot of money :D. If it's all ESD-safe, then i can understand the price..
Maybe i'm still getting used to the big money going into all these things..
