Question about HAKKO FX-951 - is this one a copy
« on: July 29, 2015, 11:03:38 am »
Good day to all,

I  bought this station HAKKO FX-951 from chinas reseller. It is working well, but it feels little different , from what i had used previously (same model bought from UK).

I was wondering, is this original HAKKO FX-951, if same one is familiar with the model, i will appreciate any help, here are some images :

If needed i can dissemble and take a photo from inside.

100% fake. You wont get genuine Hakko from China ever, local resellers widely sell fakes too. Genuine FX-951 have a cable from the stand to the back of the soldering station. Therefore check your other FX-951, it might be fake too as you didn't mention this cable.

If you are not buying from a Hakko authorized reseller-verifiable on their website-it is fake.  Same goes for tips.  Hakko seems to be the most copied/cloned product for some reason.  By the way, I love my new 951 purchased from TEquipment.net with the EEVBlog discount.

If you have pictures of the inside it would be interesting to compare them with an genuine unit.
If at first you do succeed try not to look astonished

I am glad you all used the word fake, it gets me when people use the word clone, a clone is an exact copy of another, something these chinese knock offs is not.
