Rigid RE 60-MLR lug crimping tool

I am in the market for a crimping tool for large lugs and was wondering  why this model was so expensive?

1600$ seems like a ridiculous amount to pay for a manually operated crimping tool or are these things usually this expensive?

It's unusual that even the cheapest Chinese models sell for 40 times cheaper!

I am having a hard time justifying its price. I've fallen in love with the quality and feel of the unit but my mind is telling me to snap out of it

I've got a cheap crimper for smaller lugs from Ebay but it isn't something I'd like to use on a daily basis. OK for doing a few lugs per year.

I got an el cheapo crimper as well but  every-time I want to use it It starts leaking oil and stops working and I have an oily mess on my hands!

There's no way to know if you've achieved maximum clamping force or not so maybe I'm overdoing it and the thing just fucks up on me.

I would use it occasionally but I have a thing for quality tools and want it so badly but the price is only justified for someone who uses it every day I guess...

Can't seem to find a middle ground with these things either cheap crap or very high end stuff.

There is always the second hand market to keep an eye on.
