I'm looking to buy an entry level DC power supply and had a couple of questions regarding the DP700 series from Rigol.
It says that both CV and CC modes can be used but what about current limiting?
Also, when it says that it can output 5A at 30V for a total power of 150W does that mean It can also do 5V at 30A, 12V at 12.5A etc... or is that 5A the maximum for any given Voltage?
I am new to power supplies and hope someone can shed some light here.

The limits are 30 V and 5 A. An the 150 W power rating means you can get the full current even at 30 V (at least they claim it - there sometimes is some doubt on this with cheap supplies). So no more than 5 A at any voltage.
Some supplies (especially switched mode ones) may allow only lower maximum current at high output voltages, but this supplies seems to be able to get the full current at any voltage.
The CV/CC mode or chosen by the supply. So the user sets limits for voltage and current and the supply than works on CV mode if the current is below the limit and CC mode if the maximum current is reached and thus the voltage less than the set voltage.
