reliability would depend on how fast the host wanted to access the card - higher clock rates would have trouble with that length of cable.

I used one... in a tablet with a Rockchip SoC that multiplexed the console UART on the SD slot.   Don't think I ever tried it with a card though.

Still ended up having to buy a second variety as the cable on the first one wouldn't fit.
