Shure PGA48 Handling noise
« on: April 09, 2018, 01:03:37 am »
Hi Everyone

A couple of months ago i bought a Shure PGA48 for on the road voice over work. The quality of the voice sounds good but i have a problem with handling noise. If you are holding the microphone in your hand not moving it will pick up pops from moving. Right now it is going through an XLR to Quarter inch and then to an 1/8 inch to fit into my sony pocket recorder (I checked and the recorder that i am using supports dynamic based microphones). Here is the amazon listing for it
https://www.amazon.com/Shure-PGA48-XLR-Cardioid-Dynamic-Microphone/dp/B00TTQM93C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1523235353&sr=8-2&keywords=shure%2Bpga48&th=1

The XLR connection is a little wiggly so I am wondering if I get a new cable if it would remove this problem. Keep in mind i am using the cable that came with the microphone.

Thanks
