SN100E vs SAC305 solder options
« on: October 01, 2017, 05:52:27 am »
I'm looking for a solder for production use, rework of surface mount and some hole through, lead free (EU RoHS) only. Does anyone have a preference who's tried SN100C, SN100E and SCA305? Got a preference for manufacturer?

Available from Arrow, Digikey or Mouser if possible.

I prefer SN100C for hand soldering. Joints are shiny unlike with dull SAC solders and much less dross occurs while soldering.

I use SN100C from Nihon Superior since 2011. 030 Flux is great.

If you are in the USA try Superior Flux.

I manage to secure some it's really awesome. The fluxed core wires is helpful but don't perform as well as fresh flux.
