Switches, really big switches...
« on: August 31, 2015, 07:03:58 am »

Today I went to check out some switches.

All this along with much much more, including vintage test and radio equipment, and some hardcore cable-porn and tight-lacing is on display one afternoon a week at the Museum of Communications in Seattle.

If you live in the Seattle area, or will be visiting, plan to spend a good chunk of at least one Sunday afternoon there -- unless you have no interest in seeing 100 years of communications electromechanical and electronic engineering under one roof and having your questions answered by career technicians and engineers.

If you need persuading, or something to tide you over, I have more photos and details of my visit to the museum on my blog.

All those massive amounts or wiring made me not interested in telecom equipment at all during my EE study. Guess what I did in the first 10 years of my career: design telecom equipment  :palm:
There are small lies, big lies and then there is what is on the screen of your oscilloscope.

:)

I appreciate those massive amounts of wiring. What I appreciate, most of all, is that someone else did it!
