Tried this before?
« on: May 11, 2015, 08:06:46 pm »
Howdy,

I am out of flux.  Normally, I would have dropped by Radio Shack.  I don't particularly like their flux, but they are usable.

I found this one from SRA.  Looks like a US company in Massachusetts:

Anyone used SRA Solder Flux before?  What is your opinion of it.  I looked up the datasheet, it is for electronics but I also found this phrase in their datasheet: "actived by organic acid".

Rosin is a mixture of organic acids. It has nothing to do with "acid flux" which is based on ammonium chloride.

Ah, didn't know that rosin is a mixture of organic acids.  I got the two mixed up.  Thanks!

I am used to paste flux from Radio Shack.  On first look, can't seem to find it on Mouser except gigantic jars.  This looks like something I am used to using.  May give them a try.
