Tweezer nose or very fine circlip pliers?
« on: July 17, 2018, 09:05:11 pm »
I'm doing a job which involves some very small circlips; the lugs on them have holes which are under 1mm in diameter. Can anyone recommend a high quality pair of pliers (very fine circlip pliers, tweezer nose pliers, etc.) which would be small enough for such work? While there seem to be quite a lot of precision toold out there, it's hard to find any with tips under 1mm.

KD have a kit with replaceable tips in a couple of selections, sizes and angles.
KD is now owned by Gearwrench so you can find their selection here:

While I didn't find their replaceable tip sets robust for big circlips they were indeed very handy for the tiny ones.

I have several 20 plus year old Belzer snap ring pliers that I wouldn’t trade for any of the newer Chinese ones; Bahco may have bought out Belzer.  If I was looking for quality, I would look at Stahlwille, Knipex and Wera.

Thanks, but their smallest tip is 1 mm.

I would look at Stahlwille, Knipex and Wera.

The smallest Stahlwille and Knipex have 0.9 mm tips, and while Wera make fine tools (and I already have some), they don't seem to make pliers.

So, I'm still looking...
