Any Lauterbach Trace32 users?
« on: July 01, 2018, 06:45:25 pm »
Just wondering if there are any users around and what exactly people do with it. I know the equipment and licenses are rather expensive for the hobbyist but sometimes, there are good deals on ebay, so it's not completely unreasonable to see a hobbyist with such gear.

To start, I use it at work on a daily basis for the PowerPC architecture to work on low-level MCU stuff at an automotive supplier (PowerDebug II/Pro, PowerTrace II, PowerIntegrator II).
At home, I use it for Cortex-M to work on my hobby projects (uTrace, PowerDebug II, PowerTrace II, PowerIntegrator).

While I'm at it - anyone got an LA-793x ICD PowerProbe or LA-7949 analog probe?

I used it in previous company that I worked for. Perfect user experience in debugging from ARM9 to Cortex A57.
Would like to buy it for home use, but have no idea about price range for Cortex-M.
Would like to know pricing in that segment. Tools that I used were in 20K EUR range plus 1k eur yearly for software. Way out of hobby budget.

I used Lauterbach at one company I worked at.
Definitely the top JTAG debuggers on the market, hence the top price.

Sadly, it has been many years since I worked with them  :-[
