Anritsu Spectrum Analyzer I/P attenuator replacement MS710a

Trying to find a replacement attenuator for the Anritsu MS710a input attenuator.

Does anyone have experience repairing Anritsu SA's input amplifiers or attenuators ?
Would it be possible to use an Analog Devices (Hittite) chip attenuator as a repair ?

are you talking about the frontend RF att? (mechanical, Z3 in the service manual)

hi,

Not certain what the problem is, but when I input an appropriate signal, I get No response from the 710a SA.
My guess is that the I/P amp is dead or the I/P Attn is not working.

All other functions appear to be working on the front panel.
The Calibrator O/P, when fed into a different SA, is spot on.

Not sure where to start ... Does on have to take apart the inner shields to get at the I/P amplifier & Attn circuits for testing ?
Or, can one simply reach appropriate test points when the outer case is taken off ?
