cheap Bluetooth jammer?
« on: October 16, 2018, 03:55:53 pm »
For testing the reliability of my BLE device, I'm searching a Bluetooth jammer (for the new BLE standard, but I guess it is the same 2.4 GHz frequency band). Needs to be only very short range, I can use it very closely to the device. A quick search on eBay results only in > 400 EUR devices, which look very long range and which are probably very illegal as well.

Or maybe I can shield it somehow? But an electronic jammer would be easier.

Might work, even if you don't turn on the oven :) but a single button push solution would be better.

If shielding is an option, have you tried just sticking it in an antistatic (metallized) bag?

Thanks, this works! I put it inside a plastic bag, and this inside one of those Digikey antistatic bags. Then I can just press down on the opening to shield it. If I do this for less than a second, the Bluetooth transfer just stops, when longer the connection is closed.

i wonder if this has to do anything (I mean lack of good testing) with why my laptop won't fucking work at all when wifi is connected together with blue tooth. It keeps freezing youtube and all sorts of shit.

I wonder if its a cross talk related problem or just bad software.
