I'm not sure, but a ratio of 9:1 and the long wire antenna would indicate a unun which is used for impedance matching a random long wire to a 50 Ohms antenna input. One of the wire terminals is for the long wire and the other one is ground (same as the SMA's ground, the antenna's ground isn't used usually). For a dipole you would need a 4:1 balun.

Looks like a Mini Circuits TC9-1 transformer, or similar. https://ww2.minicircuits.com/pdfs/TC9-1.pdf

... so, it depends on what you have to connect on it. As it is shown, it is configured for a symmetrical high impedance antenna (dipole). If you have to connect a monopole (like a random wire) a modification is needed: open the jumper R1 and connect the ground to one of the input terminals.

Hiya

A review: http://www.radioforeveryone.com/p/review-balun-one-nine.html

From this you can put a long wire into one of the clamps - or use 2 long wires .

Cheers
